Janet Torney is a professional director and strategic consultant with broad experience in the financial services sector, notably in superannuation, investments and markets, and in the engineering sector.
Janet’s superannuation expertise is extensive. She is currently chairman of Access Capital Advisers (an infrastructure investment manager and adviser), principal of JT Consult (strategic governance, investment, business management and risk management advice to superannuation funds and financial services businesses) and on various ASFA advisory committees. Janet has been Chief Executive of Qantas Superannuation, trustee director of the Citicorp Australia Group Retirement fund, principal & practice leader at Aon Investment Consulting, investment director at Westpac Investment Management as well as a leading market economist for the Reserve Bank and several global investment banks. Janet has long been involved in the industry associations supporting the superannuation sector – for ASFA she was a director of the national Board, chairman of the Policy Committee and Finance & Risk Committee member, for IMCA she was director and inaugural chairman of the Finance Committee, for ABE she was chairman and secretary and she is a member of WiS, FEAL, WoB and AICD.
